# Plate Loads functions | OpenStaad Python

Every function is a method of the session `s = ops.connect()` (`from openstaad import ops`).

## Add

### AddElementHydrostaticPressure

**Description**

Adds the element hydrostatic pressure.

**Parameters**

- `plateIds` (list): plate ids.
- `varLoadDirection` (int): var load direction.
- `varInterpolateDirection` (int): var interpolate direction.
- `varMinLoad` (float): var min load.
- `varMaxLoad` (float): var max load.

**Returns**

raw: The raw return value from the underlying OpenSTAAD COM call. Refer to the official Bentley OpenSTAAD API reference for this method's exact return semantics.

**Example**

```python
from openstaad import ops

s = ops.connect()
result = s.AddElementHydrostaticPressure([1, 2], 1, 1, 1.0, 1.0)
print(result)
```

### AddElementPressure

**Description**

Adds the element pressure.

**Parameters**

- `plateIds` (list): plate ids.
- `varDirection` (int): var direction.
- `varPressure` (float): var pressure.
- `varX1` (float): var x 1.
- `varY1` (float): var y 1.
- `varX2` (float): var x 2.
- `varY2` (float): var y 2.

**Returns**

bool: `True` if the call succeeded, `False` otherwise.

**Example**

```python
from openstaad import ops

s = ops.connect()
result = s.AddElementPressure([1, 2], 1, 1.0, 1.0, 1.0, 1.0, 1.0)
print(result)
```

### AddElementTrapPressureEx

**Description**

Adds the element trap pressure ex.

**Parameters**

- `PlateIDs` (list): plate i ds.
- `LoadDirection` (int): load direction.
- `LoadVaryDirection` (int): load vary direction.
- `StartPressure` (float): start pressure.
- `EndPressure` (float): end pressure.
- `Pressure3` (float): pressure 3.
- `Pressure4` (float): pressure 4.

**Returns**

**Example**

### AddSeismicDefElementWeight

**Description**

Adds the seismic def element weight.

**Parameters**

- `pressure` (float): pressure.
- `elementList` (list): element list.

**Returns**

**Example**

```python
from openstaad import ops

s = ops.connect()

### GetElementConcLoadCount

**Description**

Returns the element conc load count.

**Parameters**

- `varPlateNo` (int): var plate no.

**Returns**

**Example**

from openstaad import ops

### GetElementConcLoads

**Description**

Returns the element conc loads.

**Parameters**

- `varPlateNo` (int): var plate no.

list: A list of values.

```

### GetElementLoadInfo

**Description**

Returns the element load info.

**Parameters**

- `loadIndex` (int): load index.

**Returns**

list: A list of values.

result = s.GetElementLoadInfo(1)
print(result)
```

### GetElementPressureLoadCount

**Description**

Returns the element pressure load count.

**Parameters**

- `varPlateNo` (int): var plate no.
